Fulham and Nottingham Forest could sign Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy for an ‘easy’ €17.5m fee in the January transfer window.

That’s according to BILD, who say the Premier League duo have been keeping an eye on the attacker ‘for a long time’ and can get him on the cheap if they so wish.

The newspaper reports that, according to their information, striker Guirassy, who has 15 goals in nine games this season, can leave for a €17.5m fee in January thanks to a clause in his current contract.

There are no shortage of interested parties in the player and a recent unsanctioned interview in which he looked ahead to the transfer window made it sound like he would be interested in a move.

Fulham and Nottingham Forest are among the suitors and know the striker ‘would like’ to move to the Premier League at some point in his career.

They’ve been keeping an eye on him ‘for a long time’ and the aforementioned transfer fee ‘would be easy’ for both clubs to cover. If one of them were to get serious about a deal, a transfer ‘is not unlikely’.

This is something those in charge at Stuttgart know and according to BILD’s information, they’ve been looking for a possible replacement for months should he leave.

It now remains to be seen if Fulham or Nottingham Forest now make their move for the goalscorer, who it seems is very much available on the cheap should they want him.

Fulham target André today had a word with the Brazilian media about his future.

Following the Copa Libertadores title, the midfielder is at the national team camp, and is even running for a starting place in their next couple of games.

Speaking to Sportv, in quotes relayed by Somos Fanaticos, André was asked about the rumours about a move away from Fluminense in the January transfer window.

The midfielder claimed he doesn’t really have his head on this subject right now, as he’s focused on finishing the year well at the Rio de Janeiro side.

“I’ve always been calm. Every window I always leave it to my agent. At first, after the mid-year window, I haven’t received any offers yet. I’ve made it clear to them that my focus is on training and continuing to help Fluminense. Thank God we won the Libertadores.

“Now it’s about playing the last few games in the Brazilian league, doing well in the Club World Cup, because we know it’s a very difficult competition. It’s about enjoying every moment, every training session and seeing what happens in the next window. I have a contract with Fluminense until 2025.”

Recent reports from Brazil claimed that Fulham are leading the race for André, even though the midfielder has also been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

It’s been said that the Whites are in constant contact with Fluminense, and their bid is expected to be made in the coming days.

Even the Brazilian club admit he should be off in January, and it remains to be seen whether it’ll be Fulham or any other club who’ll take him to Europe.

Bayern Munich’s supervisory board met this week, alongside manager Thomas Tuchel and Sports Director Christoph Freund to discuss transfers, including Fulham’s Joao Palhinha.

That’s according to Kicker, relayed by FCB Inside, who say the Portuguese star remains on Bayern’s radar as they seek a number six for their squad.

The newspaper reports that Bayern’s board met for it’s quarterly meeting in Munich on Monday, during which they discussed various topics, including planning for the January transfer window.

A defensive midfielder and a defender are being targeted and Palhinha ‘remains a candidate’ for the former after their attempts to sign him in the summer.

That deal fell through because Fulham couldn’t get a replacement on deadline day, but their interest has remained as Tuchel wants to add a proper holding six to his squad.

Bayern are again looking at him again but also other options as Fulham could demand “more than €70m, more like €75m” for the player after he signed a new deal at Craven Cottage following his failed move in the summer.

Whether that’s too much for the German champions after they agreed the €70m deal in the summer is yet to be known and was presumably discussed at the meeting this week.

The fact that transfers was discussed would explain why Freund and Tuchel were at the meeting, even though they don’t have a seat on the supervisory board.

They are, though, working on signing possible reinforcements in January and Palhinha may be among them again after the summer drama.

Fulham fullback Timothy Castagne has opened up about his problems with Thibaut Courtois at the Belgian national team.

As the 27-year-old was today interviewed by RTL, he was asked about the public comments he made regarding the goalkeeper back in October.

That happened after Courtois refused to play a match after learning he wouldn’t captain Belgium in that game. That led to Castagne saying they’d do fine without him, and the Fulham player claims things are calmer now.

“I spoke with him, but it’s not the right timing. It’s not the right time. It was taken a little out of context. He wasn’t very happy, afterwards we talked about it, and that’s good. But it’s true that when you see sentences like that, coming out of the interview, he must not have been very happy. We talked about it calmly and everything went well,” said Castagne.

Castagne even ended up claiming that he hopes Courtois will be with Belgian’s squad for the Euros.

“With or without Courtois, there’s a difference, so we’d rather have him with us. But I said enough at the last meeting. I think it’ll be sorted out with the coach, we’ll all talk about it together, but now’s not the time to talk about it.”

Courtois is currently recovering from a knee injury, having not played for Real Madrid this season, and is just watching how Belgium do in the Euro qualifiers.

The Red Devils already secured qualification for the tournament, and now need the squad brought together for next year’s campaign.

The Fulham player’s interview with RTL got big attention in the Belgian and English media today, as the player also detailed how the summer transfer window went for him, as he drew interest from Juventus as well.

On Tuesday, RTL Info in Belgium published an interview with Fulham’s Timothy Castagne, who gave an ‘incredible confession’ about the summer transfer window.

The radio station sat down with the defender to discuss his current status as well as any other news that might have been happened, which is when they got him to talk about a near move to Juventus.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise after Leicester were relegated to the Championship and the Belgian’s past in Serie A with Atalanta, but the 27-year-old eventually ended up at Fulham in exchange for €13m after a move to Turin failed to materialise.

The right-back gave his explanation on the matter, with RTL Info claiming that ‘serious negotiations’ took place.

Castagne said: “There was interest (from Juventus), but it blocked a bit money wise. We had been speaking with Fulham and the manager for a while. It dragged a bit, but in the end it was done and I’m very happy.”

Since joining, the Fulham right-back has played in all nine games he was eligible for for the Craven Cottage side in the Premier League, as well as two others in the EFL Cup.

This comes after 112 appearances for Leicester, where he picked up five goals and assisted another eight during his three years there.

As Fulham star João Palhinha today held a press conference at the national team camp, Portuguese journalists brought back a subject from the summer.

That’s obviously the failed transfer to Bayern Munich, with the local press asking whether that affected him, and if that was postponed for the upcoming windows.

Palhinha didn’t mind talking about it, and gave quite a long answer about his stay at Fulham. The quotes come from O Jogo.

“I don’t know what will happen in the future. Obviously it’s really affected me and my family, but that’s all in the past, I don’t want to think about it too much. It’s a great source of pride, you know what happened. In my life everything that has happened has been for a reason, I like to think of it like that,” said Palhinha, insisting there’s still a lot of time for him to shine.

“The future will tell me whether what happened was really what had to happen or not, but only the future will show me that. I want to keep going the way I’ve been going, nobody has given me anything throughout my career, everything I’ve achieved is down to my worth, my work. I hope it stays that way. I’m 28, but I know I can go higher and I’m looking to the future with that ambition.”

Portugal are already qualified for the Euros, and that’s why the local media isn’t putting any pressure on the national team during press conferences. In the current international break, they’ll play Liechtenstein and Iceland in the final two rounds of the qualifiers.

Palhinha ended up renewing his contract with Fulham following the failed move to Bayern Munich, and is now committed to the Whites until 2028, with an option for a further year. His market price on Transfermarkt has only been going up, as the website now has it at €55m.

On transfer deadline day, everything pointed to Joao Palhinha leaving Fulham and ending up at Bayern Munich, only for the deal to collapse at the final minute.

This meant the midfielder stayed at Craven Cottage, where he then extended his contract, but that didn’t stop the rumours of a move to Bavaria from reappearing.

In fact, in an interview with Sport Bild on Sunday, Christoph Freund, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, made it clear that the Fulham star was still very much on their agenda.

The need for the Bundesliga side to sign a new defensive midfielder has been made very clear by the choices Thomas Tuchel has had to make, and Palhinha remains high on the wish list.

Freund said: “Of course he is still on our radar. The club worked intensively with Palhinha in the summer. I was there for the bit on the last, strange day of the transfer window, but you can’t say yet what will happen. We are generally exploring the market.”

The fact that such a prominent member of the Bayern Munich hierarchy is openly discussing the interest in Palhinha means there is a high chance something will be attempted in the next transfer window.

It’s no secret that Tuchel really likes the Portuguese, and with his side needing extra help to try and dethrone Xabi Alonso’s relentless Bayer Leverkusen from the top of the Bundesliga, more security in midfield could go a long way.

Spanish side Las Palmas are eyeing up a move for Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius as they look to tweak manager García Pimienta’s squad.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the player is on Las Palmas’ list of options they’re looking at to replace Munir El Haddadi as he’s set to depart.

They explain that Munir is set to move to Saudi Arabia and when he does so, it will leave his club needing to enter the window to find a replacement.

The sports management at Las Palmas, led by Luis Helguera, are assessing their options but are ‘thinking about’ Fulham’s Carlos Vinicius in particular.

The idea is to sell Munir for around €8m before then using that money to approach Fulham over their striker, who is considered an ‘eternal promise’ yet to flourish in the Premier League.

He’s only featured in six league games this season with one goal against Luton to his name and Las Palmas believe that could give them their chance to get their man.

According to Estadio Fulham value Vinicius as €6m, a figure that Las Palmas could manage without difficulty and even more so with the departure of Munir.

The first movements for the transfer have already occurred, hinting talks may already be on behind the scenes, and this is a situation which may pick up pace in the coming weeks.

Fulham’s board are ‘in constant contact’ with Fluminense over midfielder André and are ready to compete with Premier League rivals for his signature.

That’s according to Trivela, who say Fulham ‘remain strong in the race’ for the highly sought-after Brazilian midfielder.

They explain that Fulham were actually the first side to formalise a proposal for the Brazilian midfielder, who has several clubs in England eyeing up a move for him.

They don’t have the financial power of some of the other competitors but that has not stopped them from continuing to chase the player.

They sent representatives directly from England to observe the midfielder in the Copa Libertadores final and his great performance in that game certainly made Fulham ‘even more interested’ in trying to secure his signature.

Their board ‘is in contact’ with the Tricolors and intend to make an official proposal in the coming days, having already been the first club to approach the Brazilian side in the first place.

Whether that puts them at an advantage remains to be seen but they remain firmly in the picture despite the increasing competition.

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno will miss the upcoming international break as he undergoes surgery on his nose.

That’s according to Sport Buzzer, who report that the Fulham number one will miss out on a return to the international set up thanks to the previously planned surgery.

They explain that Leno is not in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the upcoming international break as he is set to undergo surgery on his nose instead.

The player had appeared to be set for a return to Germany’s squad for the clashes against Turkey and Austria later this month after impressing for Fulham once again this season.

Instead, he was missing from Nagelsmann’s announcement today, with youngster Janis Blaswich instead a surprise inclusion in his place in the four selected.

That’s because the goalkeeper will instead go under the knife to deal with an unclarified problem with his nose.

It remains to be seen if his absence affects his chances going forwards, with the goalkeeper’s last appearance for his country coming in back in 2021.

He’s either been on the bench or not in the squad since then and this latest absence will continue that streak.

Sport Buzzer believe that Leno probably only has an ‘outside chance’ of securing one of the three places in Nagelsmann’s squad for the Euros next year, with Germany well stocked in that area.
